My future career

My future career is to be a rugby union player for the All Blacks or any super 15 teams like the Crusaders or Hurricanes. I would also like to be a league player for any team as well but I still prefer Union. Rugby is a fun sport to watch and play. I would try and earn heaps of money to buy heaps of cool things and get heaps more money for my family and other things.

Netbook Reflection 2012

Netbooks are a very fun and cool way to learn at school. I just got my netbook in term 2 early after I came to Pt England School. I don’t know what the internet was like last year because I wasn't here but sometimes the internet just disconnects and sometimes lags but most of the time it is fine and fast. The TLN-MANAIAKALANI internet connection is slow.

I reckon having netbooks is a better way to learn than pen and and paper. I like using the netbooks because I don't get sore hands when i'm writing. The thing I don't like about my netbook right now is when its flat because my charger is broken. But I would still prefer netbooks than pen and paper.

Term 4 Reflection

Term 4 was another and educational term. The topic we were learning about was Toy Story it was a fun and cool topic to learn about. This term was my third term at the amazing Pt England school. I reckon this year went fairly quick.

I tried to improve heaps and learn more this term in all the topics.

We did lots of fun activities and I learnt lots of new things this term. This term the boys and I mostly just kicked back, but not like last term when we played rugby nearly everyday.

Athletics Day

Last week on Thursday we had Athletics Day. It was a fun and exhausting day. We participated in lots of  sports, like 100 metre and 75 metre sprints, Shot-put, Javelin and high jump. I was in Te Arawa house group which is the red team.

We kicked our day off with a ball throwing game which you have to stand on a mat and chuck the ball over your head as far as you can. You are not allowed to stand off the mat or you will be disqualified. After we continued on to javelin which I failed at majorly. The person who won at javelin was Prince, he had most farthest throw of all. After that we continued on to more sports which requires lots of strength and speed. baseball throw and later on we had relays.

After morning tea we did shot-put. It was `fun but also hard. Athletics day was very fun and also very tired.

My favourite toy

My favourite toy was one of my cars that was given to me from my Dad for Christmas years ago. My brother and I both got one each. They are sport cars. The cars are exactly the same except for the colour. His one is white and my one is blue.

When I first got the car my brother and I wanted to take it out of the stand and drive it around. My dad unscrewed the bolts and we drove it around for a little while until my windscreen cracked. Then we had to put it back on the stand and screw it back on.

My brother and I always asked to drive it around but my parents kept saying “No you will end up breaking them.” I just wanted to drive it around and act cool with it but, no.

Now they just sit up on a shelf in my room.

The new house

One  day a really rich family recently moved into a new house. Their new house was located in the middle of their own island they bought a few years ago. The family which consisted of four people and a pet dog. The dad was one of  most clumsy people in the world but also one of the richest people in the world, he lives with his wife and their two children. Their dog was just introduced into their family not long ago and was adopted and chosen by their five year old son.

As they were settling into their house they noticed cracks, leaks, broken windows and more unusual things they were not expecting in their new half a million dollar house. Their biggest problem was the roof, everything about it was a problem to them, the colour, patterns and even the lights connected to it.

The dad James tried to call the all the glass repair people and some other repair services to come fix their house but the location of their house, meant that none of the repair companies could reach them unless they could wait a few days, but waiting was not one of his strongest attributes. So the dad decided to fix the house up himself, ”Hahahahaha” his family chanted together “What does he think he’s up to” said his son. He thought he was the man and went to the nearest hardware store to buy some tools to fix his house up.

After he done up most of the house he headed on to do his final job, the sitting room roof. He had to paint over all his lounge roof, and the lounge was the biggest room in the mansion. When his family heard he was painting the roof they laughed and decided to watch him. As he was painting he did not think to even cover the floor in newspaper or cover his face from paint.
The family laughed and at him as paint dripped all over the floor and his face. His wife decided that he was too clumsy to be her husband and abandoned him with, and she took all his money and her children with her.

What if I could go back in time?

What if I could go back in time?

If I could go back in time I would go right back to a time where I could change history. I would go back and warn the Americans about the Japanese attack in Pearl Harbour and other things like that.

I would go back and try harder in the Beep Tests or normal tests like the IKAN maths test. I would learn all lotto numbers and go back in time and guess the numbers to get them right and win the lotto. Going back in time would be like being a superhero saving the day.

The way for me to go back in time would just be to say “Go” (and then say the year or date I would wish to got to) 11/9/01.

What if was the principal?

What If I was the Principal?

Well if I was the Principal of Pt England school it would be THE MOST AWESOME SCHOOL FOR KIDS EVER. I would allow all sports to be played in the school and build a field for rugby. Pt England would be as cool as it would be now. I would upgrade all the netbooks to the Apple IMac Laptops and make the middle block full of free time. Going to Pt England would be just like owning one million dollars.

Pt England school would be cool as it is right now. I make it not compulsory to come on Fridays so we could have a long weekend.

If I was a billionaire

What if I was a billionaire? I wonder what you would do with all that money? Well if it was me I would buy things no kid would ever have in their possession. Being a billionaire would be like being Donald Trump.

I would buy lots of my favourite cars from the old school muscle cars to the latest Lamborghinis, Ferraris and store them in my garage that will nearly be as big as the Mansion.
My Mansion will be designed specially to withstand all disasters. It would have a swimming pool which would be an exact replica as the ones used in the olympics.

Mini Olympics

Finally team four and five are doing something really interesting.  This week at school we had an exciting and fun event, the Mini-Olympics. The Mini-Olympics are fun activities held in different rooms where a teacher is running it. All the kids from year five - eight were doing the Mini-Olympics event.

We all were split up into our houses: Mataatua, Tainui, Takitimu and Te Arawa. I was in Te Arawa three (all teams were split up into at least three groups). The games held in the Mini-Olympics were, Jump Jam with Miss M, watching old Pt England movies with Ms Tele'a, Singstar with Mr Jacobsen, Obstacle course with Ms Va'afusuaga, Virtual dancer with Mr Slade. Our group managed to do three activities in the whole session, which were   with Mrs M (Jump jam), Mrs Tele'a (videos) and with Mr Jacobsen doing Sing Star. All the activities were kinda boring except for watching the videos.

The reason for the mini-Olympics was so we could have fun and enjoy the morning. Another reason was so the teachers could go down and visit the Junior School. Mini-Olympics was funny and boring  and Mr Jacobsen said we had a chance of having another mini-Olympics session. Like, when the juniors had their mini-Olympics. Their teachers came up to visit us.

Mini-Olympics was kinda boring but at least we got time away from the work in class.

Making choices - Life Caravan

Making choices are important in life especially if they are good choices. This term we have attended a Life Caravan session which teaches us about making choices.

Good choices can get you better things or make you live longer. Choices are very hard to make especially if there are more than two good choices to decide from. If you go to course and graduate you will have lots of work choices to choose from.

Bad choices can be made without the person even knowing or he/she just took the risks of making that choice. Some bad choices could potentially harm the human body. Like, if you make a bad choice and start smoking you could have a higher chance of dying. But if you make a good choice and decline smoking cigarettes (nicotine) you will be more healthy and have a better chance of living longer.

Choices can be harmful to the person making the choices because of peer pressure and people pressuring them to make their choice. In the Life Caravan we  learnt what alcohol can do to the human body. An average adult can only take so much alcohol each hour and too much alcohol results in a very drowsy drunk mood. Children’s bodies cannot handle as much alcohol as an adult. It’s not a good idea to drink.

Usain Bolt

Usain Bolt has got to be one of my favourite athletes in the Olympics. He has extraordinary speed which gained him the WR (World Record) for the fastest time in the 200m sprints. The Jamaican Beast seemed invincible as he defended his record once again with a time of 9.63, the second fastest time recorded for the 100m race.

Usain Bolt and his fellow Jamaican athletes in the track and field events tried their best to sprint their way to a medal. The Jamaicans on the 200m final sprint event came first, second and third. The Jamaicans also broke the record for the relay sprint.

Usain Bolt was born on 21 August 1986 in Sherwood Content, this makes him 26 years old this year. He is 1.95m tall and 93 kg of weight. When he was a child, he attended Waldensia Primary school and that’s where he showed his running potential. He ran in the annual national primary schools and when he reached twelve years old he became the school’s fastest runner on the 100m track. His track name or nickname is “Lightning Bolt.”

Usain Bolt is an extraordinary man with the ultimate speed to beat any other human in the world. The Jamaican warrior has won many golds and has more to come. When he’s on the track all you can hear is the crowd going wild chanting, USAIN, USAIN, USAIN all the way.

League Trials

Since our first meeting for league we have been practising hard to make the team every Wednesday lunch and Thursday after school. I have missed two trainings because I left my boots at home. At league training on Thursdays some boys and I have to leave early because we have another training to attend at the Marist club for Rugby Union.

Our coaches said these last two trainings are the main trials for them to decide the two teams, The ‘A’ team and the ‘B’ team. I don’t really mind what team I make it in but I still tried out for the ‘A’ team. I missed out one of the trials on Wednesday because I did not come to school. The teams will be announced on Tuesday.

The Struggle

1. As the man struggles to break free from the lock, his opponent attempts to make him tap out.
2. As quickly as he could, he tried to get loose in case the opponent got the better of him.
3. The grappler is in the perfect position to take the opponent down and make him tap
4. The wrestlers are straining their muscles, popping their veins as they both try to win.
5. During the tiring match the wrestler manages to get his opponent into an armlock and tries to make him tap.

Steady Aim

Title: Steady Aim

1.Silence filled the air as the archers calmly aim their arrows towards his bullseye.
2.The archer is firm and focused on hitting the target.
3.The archer has to be fixed and have faith to be able to be on target
4.His body is perfectly balanced as aims his steady shot at the target.
5.He holds his bow firmly so that the arrow will shoot straight at the target.

Holiday highlight

My holiday highlight was on my little brothers birthday. My little brother Ty turned 3 years old on Thursday the 12th of July. My step-dad wanted to celebrate his birthday on the same day as Ty because his birthday is only a few days after Ty's birthday.

On their birthday we went out to buy Ty and my step-dads presents, while out we bought my little brother a garbage truck and some new kicks. We bought my step-dad a dartboard.

My dad gave me some money to me so I bought me some new shoes from Rebel Sport, I got some Nike Backboard 2's and my other little brother Jerahd got some Pumas.

After we bought the stuff we went and bought the cake, it was a caramel mud-cake. we had dinner then continued to dessert, the cake. We enjoyed the cake and after I played my Modern Warfare 2 game on my Xbox-360. Ty's birthday was fun and I cant wait for my birthday.

Maths Whizz

This week I spent 113 minutes on Maths Whizz.

Try Time

My Special place is in a stadium or rugby field. I like the field because I like playing Rugby and Rugby League. I also like playing held or sometimes we play two hand touch. Another thing I like at the field is getting runaways and scoring tries. I also like it when I hear the crowd cheering for us. I like it when our coach is reffing the game because he gives us the rules that we learn in training. I like going to watch pro games in the stadiums like the Blues or Warriors.

My artist I selected for my art is Van Gogh. I chose Van Gogh because I like how his art turns out to look amazing.  Van Gogh is famous for his style of ‘Expressionism’. This style of art is used to express the artist’s feelings. Like for example you would use bright colours if the artist feels good and dimmer colours if the artist feels down or sad.

My photo was taken on a field but I drew a photo of the North Harbour Stadium because I have just recently been there on a trip to watch the Blues and Chiefs. From memory I drew the fire that comes after a try, and on my picture Manu is scoring a try.

Assembly

Today at assembly we started off with singing the great N.Z anthem. After that we listened to our principal, Mr Burt. He spoke to us about safety on the road He continued to say that two people nearly got ran over last week . He presented us a video to help explain what he meant. He said the video was very “cheesy” and when we watched, it was about a girl who was getting dropped off and she got dropped on the wrong side of the road. So she climbed across the car and hopped off on the footpath side and continued to cross the road but not at the crossings. After that Mr Burt reminded us to use the crossings. He then said he has opened up a competition to film a movie about safety on the roads and is due in the next few weeks. The winning class will be awarded with a camera.
