The Haunted House

`Ugh Look at that hideous house!” John said. “Look at the shattered glass, was there a world war 3 here?” Jack and his older brother John found a house while walking around the streets while they stayed at their Grandparents house for the weekend.

“Whoa did you hear that? “ John asked, Jack thought he heard screams from the inside.
“Nah I didn’t hear a thing, but maybe we should check it out” replied Jack.
“Oh I don’t know” answered John, as he started walking down the path, a look of unease flickered over his face. “Oh stop sacking it you girl, come on,” Jack exclaimed. He was surprised that he was telling his older brother not to be a girl. So John reluctantly decided to go follow Jack, so they went to take a closer look at the house.

As they inspected the house at a closer view Jack got distracted by a shiny light gleaming through the door window. Jack immediately ran towards the door to peek through the window. “STOP!” John yelled as he saw his bro running towards the house and Jack looked back and ran straight into the door. The door swung right open with a big smash. The door handle pierced right through the wall.

Jack stood up hypnotised by something inside the house.  John asked him if he was algood but no reply came Jack was still looking at something.
“What is it?” John asked curiously.
“Come look, it’s treasure” Jack finally answered. John carefully headed up the stairs towards his brother. They were staring a chest shining bright like a diamond, coated in gold, alone by itself at the in of the hallway. “I'm gonna check it out, come with me” Jack whispered.
“Ok i’ll come” John said. John was just curious to see what was in the chest. They both steadily creeped down the corridor making a quiet creep with each step on the floor.

When they got closer the front door slammed shut and they both turned around and they saw a dark figure standing in the shadows. They ran looking for a way out they found a stairs and didn’t hesitate and they ran up the stairs. When they reached the top of the stairs it was another long hallway and at the end was an open window. They heard steps coming up the stairs. They reached the window and looked out,  “Its too high to jump” John said
“Jumping out this window is better then getting murdered by a stranger”

They leaped out and hoped for the best and they landed right in the garden, except this garden was full of plants with thorns all over them. They got up and ran straight home with a few cuts.

The Day Things Started Disappearing

The Day Things Started Disappearing

Tuesday the 5th of March, Today was second day of Magic week at school . Each day of the week this week had a topic, all students were given two weeks to pick a topic and practice any magic trick to perform this week. Today was Vanish Day, and it was my topic I had chosen. We all had to present our trick in assembly, my trick was simple but hard, put an apple into a hat and make it vanish. Some of my friends had presented their tricks yesterday on ‘Illusion day’(Monday).

It was time, all classes lined up and headed to the assembly. Each kid presenting their disappearing act had heaps of things in their hands, I only had a hat and an apple. We all sat down in our seats and settled down, our principle Mr Cool.Guy addressed our school. Then came the starting acts my friend Sione was first and he pulled of an amazing magic trick the whole school said ‘WOW,’ even the seniors were surprised.

Then it was my turn, I was nervous as, I hadn't even practiced . I went up onto the stage and explained my trick, I thought no one heard me. But still I didn’t care I just wanted to finish my trick and sit back down. I tried to do it, I put the apple in the hat covered it, I closed my as I showed everyone, a bright light flashed in my head and I didn't know what it was. I heard clapping, I thought to myself “Ayeee what happened,” I opened my eyes and bam the apple was gone, and I was like “faaaar” I did it. Everyone was clapping and cheering, I thought I was the man. Then I looked up at the clear blue sky, thinking how I did it, wondering what happened, I was amazed. Then I thought ‘ayeeeeee,’ I can see the sky. I was in assembly and I could see the sky, the roof was gone. Then I looked down and everyone was gone. I was sacking it to the days, I panicked and I looked down at my feet and the floor was gone. I was flying, I mean not flying standing on nothing, next the chairs were gone. Then a bright light shined into my face and I heard voices.

I closed my eyes then a few moments later I opened my eyes to see everyone around me, I asked them what happened and they said I fainted on the floor. I looked down to the hat in my hand hoping it the apple actually disappeared, but no the apple was in there. The worst day ever.

Earthquake Responses

Yesterday afternoon two earthquakes took place in Motutapu Island, Auckland. The earthquakes were both 15 km north-east of Auckland. The first one occurred at 4:01 and the next was shortly after at 4:05. The first quake was 3.1 magnitude and was 6 km deep, the second quake was a 3.9 magnitude at 5 km deep. These are some responses of some people who have experienced the quake(s).

Independent Writing BMX

Yesterday me and my mates Potaua and Xavier went for a ride after school on our bikes. All three of us have Mongooses, Mongoose is BMX brand. First we headed to the stage in the middle of G.I. At the stage we just practice manualing and stuff. A manual is when you try ride one wheel (back or front) up for long. When we got bored we went around G.I free-riding.

Next we found some stairs by the G.I library and Potaua was first to jump them, then I was next then followed Xavier. I thought I could never do it, but I did. We all headed to my house and we practised manualing. I did not know how to bunny hop so Pots and Xavier taught me.

After practising for a while I did a bunny hop I was happy. Next I tried bunny hopping on to a small roundabout and I did it. Xavier told me to try jump on to a small curb I tried and popped my back tyre. I failed. Then I went home.

Waitangi Day

On the day before Waitangi day my friends Potaua, Kane, Xavier and I planned to go for a ride on our bikes since it was a day off school. The next day(Waitangi day), when I was on my way to pick up Potaua and Kane I met up with them and Xavier.

We went for a ride to the bmx tracks and I tried to jump the second but I still can’t do it. We then went for a free ride around Glen Innes and I tried to practice my bunny-hops but I can only do hippy jumps.

Waitangi Day was a fun day for me even though I did not celebrate. We probably will next year, I can’t wait.
